Hardscape Laborer

The Hardscape Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks (generally physical labor) in order to assist with the completion of hardscape construction projects.  The Hardscape Laborer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.

JOB DUTIES

  • Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project

  • Operate various tools and equipment. Including: chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.

  • Mix, pour and spread concrete

  • Assist in the construction of walkways, patios, firepits, retaining wall

  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis

  • Dig ditches and trenches

  • Perform land clearing activities

  • Load and Unload materials, tools and equipment required to complete construction projects

  • Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying

  • Assist Crew leader with job related tasks

  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

Equipment Operator

We are looking for a reliable equipment operator to join our excellent construction team.  Responsibilities include performing routine equipment checks and maintenance, loading and unloading equipment, and ensuring sites are kept clean and equipment is safely turned off and stored.  

EQUIPMENT OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations

  • Cleaning, Lubricating, and performing regular safety checks on equipment

  • Ensuring equipment is properly positioned before turning it on or off, or loading and unloading it

  • Training new crew members in the safe operation of equipment

  • Performing other construction duties as needed

  • Promptly reporting all faults to the Supervisor or Foreman

  • Ensuring sites are kept clean and safe

  • Identifying faults and troubleshooting equipment as required

EQUIPMENT OPERATOR REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma

  • A completed apprenticeship would be advantageous

  • Prior experience operating equipment

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to follow orders, especially under pressure.

  • Ability to work to strict deadlines

  • A sound understanding of health and safety codes

  • A positive outlook and a willingness to learn

CDL Dump Truck Driver (Quad Axle)

We are looking to hire a dedicated dump truck driver to transport various materials to construction sites. The dump truck driver’s responsibilities include using the cranks and levers inside the truck to unload materials, supervising the loading of materials onto the truck, and inspecting the truck for any mechanical issues before and after every trip. You should also be able to safely drive and operate the truck in all weather conditions.

To be successful as a dump truck driver, you should be able to pick up and deliver materials according to a schedule. Ultimately, a top-performing dump truck driver should perform all duties in accordance with company safety rules and Department of Transportation (DOT) road safety regulations.

DUMP TRUCK DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transporting crushed rock, sand, and gravel to and from specified locations

  • Verifying the types of materials being transported and ensuring that they do not exceed weight restrictions

  • Ensuring that the materials are loaded correctly onto the dump truck

  • Greasing the dump truck every 5,000 miles

  • Inspecting the dump truck before and after every trip, which includes checking the oil, gas and water levels as well as the lights and tires

  • Promptly reporting any accidents, injuries or mechanical faults to management

  • Performing regular maintenance to ensure that the truck is in good working order

  • Maintaining accurate driver logs

  • Complying with all safety rules and regulations

 

DUMP TRUCK DRIVER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid Class A and B Commercial Driver’s License

  • Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate

  • Clean driving record

  • Proven experience operating a standard dump truck

  • Working knowledge of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and road safety regulations

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Effective communication skills
